Despite its predominantly medieval appearance, Perugia hides true Baroque masterpieces in its churches, oratories and inside the National Gallery of Umbria.

Our tour will begin with a visit to the Baroque painting section of the Gallery, which houses works by great artists such as Pietro da Cortona, Francesco Mochi, Orazio Gentileschi, the Scaramuccia, and the Carlone, to name but a few.

This will be followed by a visit to the Church of the Jesus, with frescoes by Andrea Sacchi, one of the greatest interpreters of seventeenth-century Perugia, and the rooms of the so-called lower church, which are not normally accessible.

The tour will end with the Church of San Filippo Neri, a true summa of the aesthetic and religious values desired by the Counter-Reformation. Its facade has been restored to its original splendor by a massive restoration.

The tour includes a thematic selection of Baroque works in the National Gallery, a guided tour inside the Church of Jesus and the Church of San Filippo Neri. It might also be interesting to include the Oratorio dei Disciplinati.
