Summer in Umbria: art routes on the streets of “Summer Festivals”

Traveling throughUmbria in summer is an experience to be enjoyed with all the senses: with the eyes, which move between the suggestions of the landscape and the beauty of its cities of art; with the palate, which can take advantage of its celebrated gastronomy; and with the skin, exposed to the sun and the purified, living air that comes from its hills and mountains.

But most of all with the hearing, aimed at the enjoyment of the many concerts and performances that enliven the region.

Between June and September, Umbria hosts some of the most interesting festivals on the Italian scene.

In Spoleto, from June 28 to July 14, the famous “Festival of Two Worlds” is held with opera, theater and dance performances.

Next, from July 5 to 14, Perugia celebrates 40 years of “Umbria Jazz” with an exciting program.

Finally, Città di Castello will host the “Festival of Nations” from August 27 to September 7 with a tribute dedicated to European classical music.

These are some of the most interesting events that make Umbria one of the regions of Italy where culture is a widespread phenomenon, which can be felt in its streets and squares.

Here, past and present form a harmonious whole.

Summer is the best time to visit the region, taking advantage of the day to discover the historical heritage of art cities.

In the evening, you can enjoy the wide and varied selection of shows that enliven the Umbrian scene.
