“In Umbria, even the clouds are beautiful,” is a phrase that escaped a girl – whom I was accompanying on a guided tour – when faced with the view from Porta Sole, in Perugia, away from the ancient walls toward the hills and mountains of Gubbio, amid all the shades of green one can imagine.
And it is true that in this region one is often surprised at the incredible harmony of all the elements, human and natural, that come together to create a unique atmosphere, a small moment of suspension.
