Along the Royal Streets of Perugia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This guided tour along one of <strong>Perugia<\/strong> &#8216;s Royal Ways is presented as an exciting &#8220;journey&#8221; back in time to reveal a millennia-old history that is, in fact, yet to be told.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A story that moves between the mysteries of the Etruscan city and the events of the presence of the Templars in this area, to the refinements of the early twentieth century.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The landscape that frames this particular itinerary on Perugia is one of the most picturesque in the city: green hills of olive trees and cultivated fields just behind the medieval walls.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The starting point of the itinerary is Perugia&#8217;s <strong>Monumental Cemetery<\/strong>. Here, in the stillness of the city of the dead, there is a direct echo of that of the living, with its restlessness and turbulence: elegant chapels and funerary monuments by the most important artists of the time, inspired by the fashions of the time, from Verism to Art Nouveau, Deco to Expressionism. <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will be followed by a visit to the <strong>Church of San Bevignate<\/strong> with one of the most impressive fresco cycles in the city&#8217;s history. Indeed, these truly unique paintings celebrate the exploits of the Knights Templar, whose events, sometimes still difficult to decipher, exert an undisputed fascination. <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last stage of our excursion aims to rediscover one of the most beautiful and well-known monumental Etruscan tombs: the<strong>Volumni Hypogeum<\/strong>.
